Tennessee students who took Advanced Placement (AP) exams earlier this year can access their scores starting Monday, July 7, 2025. Students can view their 2025 AP Exam scores at www.apstudents.collegeboard.org. You will need to have your login credentials ready, and do not create a new account if you already have one, as it may delay access to your scores, according to the College Board.
The College Board provides the percentage of scores for each AP subject on their website, and the 2025 AP score distributions are now available. For instance, in AP Statistics, 17% of students earned a 5, 21% received a 4, 22% scored a 3, 16% got a 2, and 24% earned a 1.
AP courses enable high school students to engage in college-level coursework, offering the opportunity to earn college credit. Scores of 3 and above are what many colleges will grant credit and advanced placement for.
According to information provided by the College Board, which administers AP exams, a high score can allow students to earn college credit, potentially skipping equivalent courses in college. While on the other hand, a low score may result in colleges not granting credit thus requiring students to take the equivalent course in college.
AP scores are based on a combination of multiple-choice and free-response sections. The responses are evaluated by expert graders. Each college sets its own AP credit policies, so a score of 3 may earn credit at one institution but not another. Once a student has checked their assessment scores, they should review college credit policies at target institutions to understand their specific score requirements for credit eligibility.
